EL CLAN DE LOS FLORES (GITANOS ESPAÑOLES) / THE FLORES´ CLAN (SPANISH GYPSIES)

Aunque guardan muchas semejanzas con sus hermanos zíngaros centroeuropeos. Las familias gitanas españolas tienen algunas peculiaridades que los diferencian claramente. Los gitanos españoles han ido perdiendo con el tiempo las creencias religiosas de sus ancestros y su fervor religioso se ha encaminado hacia la fe cristiana, esto en muchos casos ha hecho que las relaciones con las familias gitanas centroeuropeas se hayan enturbiado llegando el caso en varias ocasiones de enfrentamientos entre familias.

Although There are many similarities with their Gypsy brothers or Central Europe. The Spanish gypsy families have some peculiarities that distinguish them clearly. Otra diferencia significativa es que los gitanos españoles carecen de los Barghests, sin embargo pese a no disponer de estos seres para protegerse, disponen de otros recursos igual o más poderosos, y es que los gitanos españoles tienen una relación muy estrecha los osos, que usan en sus espectáculos cuando van recorriendo los pueblos, y aunque en sus exhibiciones parecen ser animales dóciles, cuando es necesario los gitanos pueden hacer que recuperen su estado salvaje para lanzarlos al combate.

Aunque las familias gitanas españolas siguen manteniendo un gran respeto a la figura de la mujer, es sin embargo el Patriarca el que mantiene el poder dentro de la familia. Cada Patriarca está al mando de una extensa familia y todo lo que acontezca bajo ella tiene que ser con su permiso y beneplácito. Muchas veces hay enfrentamientos entre Patriarcas por diferentes motivos, desde disputarse el asentarse sobre unas zonas, hasta (lo más frecuente) disputas derivadas de deslices amorosas de los más jóvenes de cada familia.

Although the Spanish gypsy families still maintain a great respect for the figure of the woman, however, is the Patriarch who holds power within the family. Each Patriarch is in command of an extended family and all that goes under it have to be with his permission and approval. Many times there are clashes between Patriarchs for different reasons, from the settle dispute over some areas up or, most often, disputes arising from loving younger slips of each family.

Junto con el Patriarca también se encuentran las Matriarcas, que aunque no tienen tanto poder dentro de las familias, si son igual de respetadas y pueden resultar un enemigo temible por sus conocimientos antiguos.

Along with Patriarch also available Matriarchs, although they haven´t  so much power within families, they are equally respected and can be a formidable foe by her ancient knowledge.

Tras ellos están los Tios, gitanos de edad que, por sus años, su poder y su comportamiento suscitan el respeto de los demás. Los Bató son gitanos casados según los viejos ritos, responsables de una pequeña familia nuclear. Los Vara son todos los hombres o muchachos con capacidad de luchar. La fuerza de una familia gitana se mide por el número de varas de que dispone. En algunas ocasiones se puede encontrar dentro de la compañía a algunas jóvenes gitanas, que han demostrado que con sus dotes y habilidades son un gran recurso, las Rías.

Behind them are the Uncles, old gypsies who, for his years, his power, his behavior raises the respect of others. The Gypsies Bató are married according to the old rites, responsible for a small nuclear family. The Vara are all men or boys with ability to fight. The strength of a Gypsy family is measured by the number of Varas available. Sometimes it can find within the company some young gypsies girls, who have shown their talents and skills are a great resource, the Rías.

Un secreto que guardan las familias gitanas españolas es que en algunas ocasiones, alguno de ellos es bendecido en su nacimiento con un importante don, fruto de su estrecha relación con los osos, siendo un cambiaformas que a voluntad puede transformarse en oso. Las familias que tienen entre ellos un cambiaformas son las más respetadas, no solo por el hecho de estar bendecidos con este don, sino porque luchan contra un ser muy poderoso.
A secret kept by the Spanish Gypsy families is that sometimes, some of them are blessed at birth with an important gift, from his close relationship with bears, being a shifter that will be transformed into a bear. Families who have between them a shifter are the most respected, not only by the fact of being blessed with this gift, but because fighting a very powerful being.

El hombre oso es un cambiaformas que puede aparecer bajo la forma de un oso, de un humano o de un híbrido de ambas especies. La forma humana es la de un hombre alto y fornido, musculoso, generalmente con barba y bastante peludo. El color de su cabello coincide con el color del pelaje que tiene en su forma ursina.
The bearman is a shifter that can appear in the form of a bear, a human or a hybrid of both species. The human form is that of a tall, burly, muscular, bearded and usually quite hairy man. The color of his hair matches the color of the coat he have on his bear form.

En la forma híbrida su estatura es de hasta 70 cm por encima de la estatura humana. Aparece el pelaje y su cabeza se transforma en la de un oso, mientras que la parte inferior de su cuerpo es más parecida a la de un humano, pero más robusta y musculosa.
In the hybrid form their height is up to 70 cm above the human stature. Appears coat and his head is transformed into a bear, while the lower part of his body is like that of a human, but more robust and muscular.

En la forma animal no existen muchas diferencias con un oso auténtico, salvo su mayor inteligencia. Los Hombres oso tienen la misma resistencia a las armas normales que los hombres lobo, en realidad ambos seres son muy parecidos pese a que su talento es considerado una bendición mientras que los hombres lobo es una maldición gitana, y ambos son enemigos acérrimos.

Dentro de las familias gitanas españolas, el clan de los Flores es muy conocido entre la comunidad. Se decía que era una familia con un gran talento y a la que le sonreía siempre la suerte. Era respetada y admirada. El culmen de su buena estrella fue el nacimiento de unos mellizos, Antonio y Dolores, teniendo ambos el don de cambiaformas en oso, algo que no recordaba nadie que hubiera sucedido antes.

Among the Spanish gypsy families, the Flores´ family is well known among the community. They said it was a family with a great talent and they always smiled luck. They was respected and admired. The culmination of their star was the birth of twin children, Antonio and Dolores, both having the gift of shapeshifters in bear, something  did not recall anyone who had gone before.

Los años que transcurrieron después fueron los mejores de la familia, orgullosa de sus hijos pero su buena estrella se truncó inesperadamente siendo ellos todavía unos jóvenes adolescentes cuando en una de sus habituales correrías por los bosques se encontraron con Romasanta y su manada de hombres lobos. Antonio y Dolores se intentaron enfrentar a ellos, pero eran todavía demasiado jóvenes y en inferioridad numérica. Fue un combate desigual y para cuando pudieron llegar el resto de la familia Flores al oir los gruñidos y aullidos ya poco pudieron hacer, Romasanta y los suyos se marcharon dejando el campo teñido de rojo, de muchos primos Flores y de las graves heridas de Antonio y Dolores.
The years after were the best of the family, proud of his children but their star was unexpectedly cut short whrn they being still young teens when one of their regular forays into the woods they found Romasanta and his pack of werewolves. Antonio and Dolores tried to confront them, but they were still too young and outnumbered. It was an unequal battle and when they could get the rest of the Flores family to hear the growls and howls and could do little, Romasanta and his left leaving the field dyed red, from many cousins Flowers and serious injuries Antonio and Dolores.

La Matriarca Carmen intentó salvarlos a los dos, pero finalmente Dolores murió de las numerosas heridas sufridas, y aunque Antonio consiguió sobrevivir, ya no volvió a ser el mismo, ni él, ni los Flores, que juraron eterna venganza a Romasanta.
The Matriarch Carmen tried to save them both, but eventually Dolores died of wounds suffered numerous, and although Antonio managed to survive, to back no longer be the same, neither he nor Flores, who swore eternal vengeance Romasanta.

Opciones:

• Cualquier gitano puede llevar una ballesta (+5 pts) o un látigo (+2 pts).
• El Patriarca puede llevar una escopeta (+5 pts)
• Un Bató puede tener el talento de Jinete (+3 pts) y un caballo gitano (+9 pts).
• Un Bató con ballesta puede tener el talento de Tirador (+ 5 pts) o Furtivo (+3 pts).
• Cualquier gitano puede tener una versión en plata de su arma o munición para ella (+3 pts).
• La Matriarca y las Rías pueden llevar envenenados sus cuchillos (+8 pts).
• Cualquier gitano puede conducir una caravana gitana (+15 pts).
• Cualquier gitano puede tener el talento de Nadador (+2 pts).
• Si en la compañía no hay un Ursus, se puede desplegar un oso amaestrado
• Un Ursus en forma humana o híbrida puede llevar cualquiera de estas armas, o todas, escopeta (+5 pts), pistola (+3 pts), espada (+4 pts) y hacha (+4 pts). Estas armas se descartan si el Ursus se transforma en su forma de oso completa.

* All Ursus in hybrid or full bear form have a bite attack: +2 to FV, -1 Pluck Penalty (4pts).

Options

• Any Gypsy may take a crossbow (+5pts) or a whip (+2pts).
• The Patriarch may take a shotgun (+5 pts)
• A Bató may take the Cavalryman Talent (+3pts) and a Gypsy (cavalry) horse (+9pts).
• A Bató with a crossbow may take the Marksman (+5pts) or the Skirmisher Talent (+3pts).
• Any Gypsy can take a silvered version of their weapon or silvered ammunition for it (+3pts).
• The Matriarch and the Rías can poison their knives (+8pts).
• Any Gypsy may drive a Gypsy Caravan (+15pts).
• Any Gypsy can take the Swimming Talent (+2pts).
• If there is no Ursus in the company, The company can take a trained bear.
• A Ursus in human or hybrid form can take any or all of shotgun (+5pts), pistol (+3pts), sword (+4pts) and axe (+4pts). These weapons are discarded if the Ursus transforms into full bear form.
